Mariano Balois

Mariano Balois started dancing when he was 5 in his hometown Caleta Olivia, in the Province of Santa Cruz, where he studied Argentine folklore, Latin American dances and tango. During several years he perfectioned in tango dancing with the most prestigious tango teachers, such as Juan C. Copes, Maria Nieves, Carlos Rivarola, Mora Godoy, Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbau, and Leonardo Cuello, among others.

In 2001, he obtained a Native Dances Teaching Diploma issued by the Argentine Ministry of Education. He won a series of prizes and recognitions, and he has participated in the most important festivals of Argentina.In 2002 he participated in a UNESCO Cultural Exchange Program and he filmed two special films dedicated to tango for the international italian television RAI.

Mariano filmed the video “The Dance of the Bicentenary” (2010), under the direction of the choreographer Margarita Balli. In the same year he also participated in the outdoor celebration of the bicentenary of the Argentine revolution in front of more than 2 million spectators.

For seven years, he danced in the National Ballet of Argentina where he performed as a soloist in the most important stages across the world. Since 2011, he is part from the cast of "Tango Pasión" and "Tango Fire".

In 2014 he joined the musical "Chantecler Tango", co-starring with Mora Godoy. He is currently Dance Captain in “Immortal Tango” and Rehearsal Director in "Break the Tango".
