Marcelo Cuervo’s career started as early as 1980, working for the most important theaters in Argentina as La Chica del Adios and Bajo Terapia (Met 1 and Met2), Der Fliegende Hollander (Argentino Theater), Social Tango (La Rivera Theater), Sonata Otoñal (Picadero Theater), Mas de Cien Mentiras (Liceo Theater), Variaciones Enigmaticas (Broadway Theater), among many others. Indeed, he has been Associate Designer for Peter Pan and The Beauty and the Beast at Opera Theater in Buenos Aires, and at Credit Card Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Marcelo’s long list of professional experience includes Technical Production Managment and the mounting of The Beauty and the Beast, Saturday Night Fever, Little Shop of Horrors and Chicago, and Lighting Supervision in Maxico City, Madrid, Sao Paulo, Seoul and Buenos Aires.
Also since the 80’s, Marcelo has been part of many internationally acclaimed shows: Tango Argentino (Gershwin Theatre, New York-USA), Cabaret (Alcalá Palace, Madrid), Danza Maligna (Théåtre de Chaillot, Paris), Brasil Brasileiro (Théåtre Chatellet, Paris), Basil Brasileiro (Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London), Selena, The Musical (Blanquita Theater, Mexico City), El Rapto en el Serrallo (Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City)
Marcelo currently shares his knowledge and expertise by teaching courses of the Lighting Design in Musical Theater Program at IUNA (in English: National University Institute of Arts).
